John
Leo Carter is a singer/songwriter and Folk Musician from Cobh,
Co. Cork, Ireland.
His highly acclaimed debut album Candy floss
girl received a Ten/Ten review in Irelands
main music magazine Hotpress 2004, making
it one of the highest rated CDs of the year. His
album has not only sold nation wide in Ireland
but is also in demand in the States and Japan.
John Leo is currently working on EP with
a mixture of Folk songs and some of his own ,
Rings of the time, is due out this summer.
To celebrate the diverse music
talents in Ireland, John Leo partook in two
events programmed by European Capital of Culture,
2005. A song from on of his concerts was recorded
and will feature on special edition CD compilation,
Cork live 2005, providing an archival snapshot
of music in Cork for future generations. At
the Rory Gallagher Exhibition, John Leo was
recognised for his music and song writing abilities. |

As a part of Cork Folk Festival John Leo organised and presented Songsmiths,
an evening of Singer/Songwriters. The Show has been running for three years
and went on a nation wide tour in April 2005. John Leo has recently shared
a stage with such acclaimed musicians as Andy Irvine, Dervish and Kila.
